Wellness in the Community
SUICIDE OR SURVIVE is dedicated to removing the stigma associated with mental health and suicide prevention. A major part of our work is giving people the tools to improve their own mental wellness. As part of that work we have developed the “Wellness Workshop” which continues to inspire and enhance the lives of those who have participated in it.
Places at the “Wellness Workshop” are normally €200 per delegate but SOS is currently running a series of workshops across the nation that are being offered free of charge thanks to the support of Vodafone Ireland Foundation. Please see below for details for confirmed workshop dates or alternatively contact Louise to enquire when the next wellness workshop is coming to your area on telephone number 1890 577 577 or by email louise@suicideorsurvive.ie.
Wellness in the Workplace
The symptoms of stress-related pressure can manifest themselves in both people’s personal lives and in the workplace. To address this SOS has launched the successful “Wellness Workshop” programme as an employee course – available for Irish businesses of any size. The “Wellness Workshop” will focus on both the personal and business life of participants but in particular on work-related pressures.
Any organisation interested in running this course for their employees should contact Louise on 1890 577 577 to discuss the options and costs.

Presently Evaluating One Day Wellness Workshop
The National Office of Suicide Prevention has provided funding to Suicide or Survive to undertake an evaluation of their 1 Day Wellness Workshops. We have to date delivered over 30 wellness workshops throughout the country.
Key objectives of these Workshops include;
• Greater understanding of Mental Health.
• Greater usage of mental health strategies for improved Wellness.
• Maintenance of improvements over time.
• Reduced stigma associated with suicide and mental illnesses.
SOS has commissioned Trinity College Dublin to evaluate our Wellness Workshops. The evaluation will consider whether the Key Objectives outlined methodologies used have contributed to the achievement of these objectives and will highlight any unintended benefits of the workshops. Trinity College Dublin will produce a report which will outline the findings of the evaluation and will contain recommendations for the future.
