Featured in the RTE documentary “I See A Darkness” and created interactive workshop for universities and colleges

  • SOS CEO/Founder Caroline McGuigan featured in an RTE documentary “I See a Darkness”.
  • Caroline met with other featured families and the film maker and asked if they could all take the film and a live panel discussion to audiences around the country. As a result an interactive workshop was designed including extracts from the documentary and a live Q&A session with the panel. The workshop allows participants the freedom to talk about mental health issues as they experience the rawness of the honesty of people directly touched by suicide.
  • The key message of the presentation is one of hope with open discussion of what might have been a better option for people who have fallen in to a vulnerable space in their wellness.
  • This workshop was delivered to 4 colleges/universities in Oct/November 2011 with phenomenal feedback from students, college counselors and chaplains who have never experienced anything like it. Other colleges have now asked to be included in this programme.  Moving forward we will deliver 6 more seminars in colleges in this academic year.
